"My Daddy"

Last night after I came home from work I was suddenly overwhelmed with gastro-intestinal distress (I will spare you the details of that adventure). In between running to the bathroom, I tried to rest in bed. I skipped dinner completely.

When I came downstairs, Munchkin asked me to stay out of the kitchen. MTM mouthed that she was making a craft for me (click all images to enlarge):

from left to right: Buddy, MTM, Munchkin, me (wearing a tie and a shirt with a happy face on it)

It should be noted for the record that I have worn a tie three times in Munchkin's life: my grandmother's funeral and two weddings.

"Daddy! You didn't see the back," she said.

"What's on the back?"

"A poem I wrote for you."

"A poem?"

"Yes. Do you want me to read it to you?"

"I most certainly do."

My Daddy

My Daddy and me like to play

My Daddy and me like to snuggle together

My Daddy and me like to cuddle in the big bed.
In case you're wondering, here's the poem with text indicating where the verses are:

I had no words.

What have your kids done to surprise you lately?

Very Nice.

I love it when the phone rings and it's my daughter. She just asks when I'm coming home, I tell her soon. She then tells me "Ok.. Gotta call you back."

That is very cute!

Mayhem brought a painting home from art yesterday that I thought was inspired by Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs but turned out to be him and me throwing snakes in the air.

My son hid behind the door yesterday and jumped out on me. So I think you get the much, much better deal.

That is adorable.
Chloe surprises me every day, but what was adorable yesterday was that she picked up Matt's stuffed dog "Poof butt" and said "Poof butt" which cracked me up.
Matt this morning said to me that he loves me so much his heart hurts.
Adorable.

So cute and so much attention to detail!

You are one lucky daddy.

I get "mail" at least twice a week and she surprises me every time how much she knows and learns! :)

Dude. That is full of the cuteness.

My kid surprised me by telling me that he wished he had a uterus.

Great. Just GREAT.

Keep those pics and look at them when your kids are teenagers. That's what everyone keeps telling us to do...
